European Parliament legislative resolution of 19 May 2026 on the draft Council decision on the adoption of the Research Programme of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel, on the multiannual technical guidelines for this programme, on the multiannual financial guidelines for managing the assets of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel, and repealing Decisions 2003/77/EC and 2008/376/EC (06417/2026 – C10-0063/2026 – 2025/0398(NLE))

The European Parliament,

–having regard to the Council draft (06417/2026),

–having regard to the second paragraph of Article 2 of Protocol No 37 on the financial consequences of the expiry of the ECSC Treaty and on the Research Fund for Coal and Steel, annexed to the Treaty on European Union and to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, pursuant to which the Council consulted Parliament (C10-0063/2026),

–having regard to Rule 84 of its Rules of Procedure,

–having regard to the report of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (A10-0130/2026),

1.Approves the Council draft;

2.Calls on the Council to notify Parliament if it intends to depart from the text approved by Parliament;

3.Asks the Council to consult Parliament again if it intends to substantially amend the text approved by Parliament;

4.Instructs its President to forward its position to the Council and the Commission.
