The European Parliament,
–having regard to Rules 150 of its Rules of Procedure,
A. Whereas since December 2025 Iranian authorities have significantly escalated repression to crush protests and dissent, using lethal force, mass arrests, enforced disappearances, torture, and internet shutdowns to conceal human rights violations;
B. Whereas medical personnel was targeted for treating injured protesters; while detainees are held in inhumane conditions, denied medical care and legal counsel, and subjected to torture and forced confessions;
C. Whereas Iran engages in transnational repression through coercion by proxy, including in the case of Mohammad Amer Dadafarzin, son of human rights defender Fariba Baloch, arbitrarily detained and tortured in retaliation for her human rights work and testimony before the European Parliament;
1.Strongly condemns the Iranian regime’s systematic repression of its population, including excessive lethal force against peaceful protesters, arbitrary arrests, torture, and inhumane detention conditions; condemns the serious charges and execution threats by Iranian authorities against protesters;
2.Expresses its unwavering solidarity with the people of Iran, in particular women, young people, human rights defenders, journalists, lawyers and minorities, who continue showing courage despite credible reports of killings, injuries, enforced disappearances and imprisonment for demanding dignity and freedom;
3.Denounces systemic persecution of women, ethnic and religious minorities and political opponents, led by the IRGC and other regime bodies with impunity;
4.Condemns mass detentions of protesters as deliberate policy; demands immediate, unconditional release of all arbitrarily detained for exercising their fundamental rights, including human rights defenders, activists, journalists, EU and dual nationals; calls on Iran to respect its obligations under international law, including the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations;
