The European Parliament,

having regard to its previous resolutions on Iran,

having regard to Rules 150(5) and 136(4) of its Rules of Procedure,

whereas the Baha'is community, Iran's largest non-Muslim religious minority comprising 300,000 members and lacking constitutional recognition, faces systematic persecution under the 1991 "Baha'is Question" memorandum signed by Supreme Leader Khamenei;

whereas following the US military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in June 2025, the Iranian authorities began a systematic crackdown on religious minorities and intensified repression of the Baha’i community through coordinated disinformation campaigns, mass detentions, expedited trials and hate speech;

whereas approximately 1,200 Baha'is face legal proceedings or imprisonment, with women representing two-thirds of those detained; whereas in January 2025, eleven Baha'is women were arrested in raids without warrants;

whereas in October 2024, ten Baha'is women in Isfahan received combined prison sentences amounting to 90 years and were subjected to torture, physical abuse, denial of medical care and severe violations of due process;

whereas authorities in Rafsanjan have desecrated Baha’i cemeteries by digging trenches, imposing arbitrary fees, and destroying more than 30 graves;

whereas authorities continue to deny Baha’i students access to universities under the 1991 memorandum;
